These DGDAT72 cartridges are verified and qualified by the Hewlett-Packard DAT72 licensing program which ensures rigid media performance with DAT72 drives. The Sony DGDAT72 has a Metal Particle coating. Unlike common Metal Particle tapes, the DGDAT72 features a dual-layer, ultra thing magnetic coating which increases output and reduces noise even in the high frequency range essential for high-density data recording.
