Scalable Linear Recording (SLR) is a name used by Tanberg for its QIC format tapes and drives. SLR media dates back to 1986 with the original SLR1 tape.
The initial SLR drive was the SLR1 and had a capacity of 250MB. The largest present drive is the SLR140 and capacitates 70GB.
SLR tapes come in a large variation of models.
